Your New Career Starts Here.

Our teachers are changing the status quo in Springfield, MA.

Why Springfield? The Need is Here.

The need in Springfield rivals that of our nation’s major urban areas but the resources and attention devoted to reforming Springfield’s schools pale in comparison. Springfield has the second highest percentage of low income students in Massachusetts (88%); just over half of students graduate from high school. At Veritas Prep we are defying these odds and changing the trajectory of our scholars’ lives.

You can do this important work and live in a place with the following attributes:

1. We're close to it all.

Springfield’s location makes all of New England and New York easily accessible.  Get to Boston in fewer than two hours, New York City in under three, and the Berkshires and Vermont in just one.  Springfield’s renovation of the historic Union Station and the development of new high speed train service along the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield line will further improve regional train service to points north, such as Northampton and Vermont, and points south, including Hartford, New Haven, and New York City.

2. Urban culture, Western Mass quality of life.

Found a gap-closing school by day and enjoy the hills, woods, and culture of the Pioneer Valley by night and weekend.  Looking for a dynamic city full of food, music, and culture but without the hassle?  Try Northampton, just 20 minutes from downtown Springfield.  Trail run after work?  Check.  Ski on weekends?  The Berkshires and Vermont are less than an hour away.  Like the big city?  You can be in Boston in under two hours and New York City in under three.

3. Great housing, affordable prices.

A classic New England Victorian, a renovated warehouse loft, a downtown condo, or a farmhouse in the woods are all possible within a 20 minute commute of  downtown Springfield, and all at an affordable price.  Young people in the area love Northampton, the region’s cultural center; families can find great communities to raise kids in in Springfield, Longmeadow, and Amherst; and urbanites will be at home in Springfield.
